It is conceived as a prototype to evaluate the concepts the students put forward, as ways to re-introduce activity into the dormant areas in the city. It is well known that areas which are under used tend to be misused. The laneways of Sydney are one such example.

It is predicted that providing new, interesting and innovative uses of laneways can produce an influx of people, including families.

Activities are not limited to pop-up art galleries, they could include open air cinema, bowling or petanque, salsa, ballroom or line dancing, clowning, drama or art workshops etc. The broader the variety the greater appeal to the public.

Tonight there will be video art electronic art, and live art. There will be an auction at the end of the evening of the art made on the night, so some lucky individuals can take home something special.

We hope you can come along and experience the event for yourselves - bring the family.
